Though Robbe-Grillet ain’t evil for having an alien mind or a dnas of The Novel that challenges mine, if there’s a war to determine the fate of The Novel, i wouldn’t be able to knowingly kill him and i wouldn’t want to fight beside him in the trenches either. I can draw that. If changes between nodes occurred randomly and invisibly at suitable points, the reader would experience a seemingly unified text, but each path would be different.
The camera quickly pulls in on a particular object, staying with it through a long close-up.

Though unlike Jealousy, a more traditional narrative emerges to a certain extent as the novel progresses, but it still doesn’t quite spell things out for you robbe-grillst the final two chapters.

It’s a very unique vans technique, and one that on the surface sounds kind of gimmicky, but in practice is really effective in giving a sense of confusion and dread. When it finally pulls back to a medium shot, the viewer realizes with a shock that the entire scene has shifted. While I can understand why many people would dabs this novel, I have always found it inspiring. The initial few months were seen by Robbe-Grillet as something of a holiday, since in between the very rudimentary training he was given to operate the machinery he had free time to go to the theatre and the opera.
