Anchor Inn From other post that I read. Does anyone know the cost of riding the LIRR? Also is there a bus option that will get you to the openfrom post I readthe bus stop is right outside the hotel. It’s really NOT a good choice for a hotel, for your purpose. I would book a hotel much closer to the venue. Or, in between Manhattan and the Open, if you will be doing any sightseeing in addition to going to see the tennis.

The Anchor Inn is in Bayside miles beyond the end of the subway lines.

Auburndale station (LIRR)

Not sure how frequent the wchedule will be. If you are not locked into this reservation – and your only plans are the tennis – look at hotels near Main street Flushing around the end of the 7 train You can take the train one stop or even walk to Flushing Meadow from there. If you have other plans look at hotels convenient to the 7 train farther west.

There are a bunch of hotels near the Queensboro Plaza 7 train stop that also offer convenient access to Manhattan baayside other sites.

Walk to the Bayside station and a 15 min. There are much bahside convenient hotel locations. The Anchor Inn is cheap for a reason. You really need a car to stay there. It,s not near a subway. Some of the other options might not work because of parking issues.

The station echedule opens when there are Mets games and US Open matches, so maybe Google isn’t smart enough to know that it’s open right now? I’m not familiar with Bayside at all; I would think if you’re visiting you may want to be in Manhattan or Long Island City so that you can be around other stuff, plus if you’re planning on taking public transport, being physically close doesn’t actually help much.

The 7 subway stop is a bit further than the LIRR train station at Mets-Willets point it’s closer to CitiFieldbut you’re walking on a boardwalk with all pedestrians, no cars, so it’s really not a hard walk. You just need to allow for the extra time.

Also, get the 7 Express when you can, it cuts the ride time significantly. I don’t recommend driving, it would be a clusterF to leave unless you leave before the matches end but what’s the point in that?

I think this is the City bus you want: Most of the day it runs every 10 minutes. And it zchedule a most a half hour to get to the Flushing subway.

MTA LIRR – Schedules & Fares

Scedule you transfer free to the 7 and go one stop. Note that you should buy a Metrocard BEFORE using the bus like stop at a subway station and get one with enough money on it for however many of you there are ; otherwise you will need 12 quarters to pay one person’s fare.

Put is all on a Metrocard even for up schedle four people and it’s like a debit card with the free transfers all built in for you. Subway is perhaps not always the most pleasant, you may not get a seat, it may be very crowded. But the crowd is excited and fun if you don’t let the other stuff get to you. You have to walk across an elevated boardwalk to get to both the LIRR and subway, but there are crowds of people doing it with you.

If you stay until the end of the match and it goes late, the subway people open up scherule gates and don’t even require you to pay, they just want to get you on the trains and out of there so they can go home. Uber is a nightmare. The areas for pick up are crowded with ubers, private drivers, taxis, and everyone is trying to find their car.

Unless I’m with a friend with his own regular driver with a pre-set pickup not in the regular pick up spot, I would rather walk back home than ever try to take an uber again.

It’s super easy to glide in, make the turn into the closest lot, and get out. If not, then chances are you will get sent to some far field with a long walk to get to the Tennis Center.

There are shuttles but waiting for them takes forever I would rather walk. And you have to wait again at the end of the match with long lines at the end of the night, I recommend the shuttle because it’s easy to get schdule. The traffic is not nearly as bad as one would think, once you get to your car. It’s the getting to your car, if you didn’t time your arrival correctly to get a good spot, that’s the problem.

Given all of this, unless a you have a friend with a car zchedule their own personal driver or b you have VIP parking, take public transportation! All of your saved places can be found here in My Trips.
