Looking for More Great Reads? I admired her bravery and her strength. Very quickly, Devon is thrust into a world she never imagined for herself. If you have not, read this book. She turns Devon b an empathetic character, a girl who was in such deep denial that she refused to believe she was pregnant.
How could a girl like this end up doing something as horrible as throwing a newborn baby in the trash along with other refuse from around the house? It sucked me in so deeply and gripped me so tightly that I ended up reading the entire thing in 4 amg straight without enough of a break to pee or even breathe. The book opens with her mom coming home from her bartending job and Devon lying in the couch almost avter.

I would have liked a deeper exploration of the supporting characters’ issues and of Devon’s relationships with them; throughout the book I was waiting for Devon to face her heartbreak over the baby’s father and she never did, she never even said his name ; and I was not happy with the ending, which I get was supposed to be cliffhanger, but just felt uncomfortable and abrupt.
